About SABVC
Students’ Association of Bow Valley College (SABVC) is an organization that is dedicated to the effective representation of Bow Valley College students. We strive to encourage and support Bow Valley College students in order to enhance the overall student experience for the entire campus community.
Our Association was established in 1994, when Bow Valley College was still named Alberta Vocational College. Since then, we have gone through a couple of name changes.

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College (SABVC) and Bow Valley College are located in the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.
We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.
The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
