Hello everyone, my name is Deepankar Sharma. I am from a city called golden city Amritsar, Punjab, India. I am always looking for opportunities to explore more and learn more about things around us so that I can develop my personal brand and as per my opinion life is all about learning it doesn’t matter where you learn when you learn how you learn even from mistakes sometimes. This is the main reason I decided to run for executive election. I am currently enrolled in Business Administration Diploma major in Financial Service. I have completed Bachelor of Commerce major in finance back in India. I also have one year three months experience in TD Canada Trust as a contractor back in India.
Until now I learn a lot from Bow Valley College and try to participate in other extra-curricular activities and events going on in the college whenever I have time apart from study, classes and work and I hope I’ll learn more and help others BVC learners in coming year while acting as Vice President of Finance & Operations.
Finance is the blood of every business, so it is my part of my job to keep the budget of SABVC up to date for the welfare of students and make them aware about where money goes out and where money comes in. I am one of the team member representing Bow Valley College in CIFP (Canadian Institute of Financial Planning) case competition 2018 from western region which was held in Bow Valley College on 10th March it was a wonderful lifetime experience where me and my team members learn a lot. I am also Mentee at BMO Mentorship Program designed by both Bow Valley College and BMO Bank.
I am also Tutor for accounting in the college where I help other students in their studies to achieve good grades. As a part of SABVC mission I encourage other students to engage into other college activities or events so that they don’t feel homesick and it helps them to get some sort of relief from day to day assignments, quizzes and studies and I look forward to delivering positive campus experience and work for the welfare of all learners at college.
My committees: Finance, Governance, Mental Health, SABVC Collaboration, Learner Success, Food Services, Library.
