Grocery Assistant Program (GAP)

We've got your back in these tough times!

SABVC's Grocery Assistance Program supports students facing food insecurity by providing grocery vouchers and connecting them with community resources. We are committed to ensuring all students have access to the nutrition they need to thrive.

Eligibility

Our Grocery Assistant Program (GAP) is here to help all our student members. Whether you're studying part-time or full-time, you can sign up for this program. We offer $50 grocery vouchers on essential groceries items.

Must be currently enrolled in and having a valid @mybvc email address

Must provide their valid BVC Student ID. Click here to learn how to get your School ID

Must provide their class schedule copy. Click here to learn how to get a copy of your class schedule.

Must not have accessed the GAP Application within the current semester

Application Process

Every term, our GAP application closes after the school term's end date and reopens only after the Add/Drop Enrollment Schedule provided by the college.

This process ensures that we align our program with the college's academic calendar, allowing students to apply for GAP at the most appropriate times.

Additionally, please note that students can only apply for GAP once per semester, ensuring that every student has an opportunity to benefit from the program.

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.

We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.

The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
