At SABVC, we are deeply committed to fighting food insecurity on our campus and supporting our students in need. Through our partnership with Sodexo, we are excited to introduce our new program: Free Bites by SABVC.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Free Bites program, you must:

  • Be a current student at Bow Valley College

  • Have a valid @mybvc email address

  • Limit of one gift card per student per semester

How to Apply

If you find yourself unable to afford food during the day, SABVC is here to help. Follow these simple steps to receive your Free Bites gift card:

Complete the application form available here. Once submitted, visit the SABVC office to claim your gift card.

Remember, this initiative is to ensure every student has access to meals and can stay focused and energized throughout the school day. While $6 may not cover all your needs, we hope it helps you purchase some food from The Market.

Free Bites Friday

In addition to the Free Bites gift card, keep an eye out for our Free Bites Friday events! On one Friday each month, we will give out free lunch to students. We will be serving 50 free meals each month, so be sure to arrive early before supplies run out.

At SABVC, we are dedicated to supporting you in any way we can. We hope the Free Bites program helps you feel more secure and focused on your studies. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or need further assistance.

Stay healthy, stay focused, and let's beat food insecurity together!

The Students' Association of Bow Valley College is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot Confederacy) and the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina and the Iyarhe Nakoda.

We are situated on land where the Bow River meets the Elbow River, and the traditional Blackfoot name of this place is “Mohkinstsis” which we now call the City of Calgary.

The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region 3.
