  • 10 Oct - Healthy Body, Healthy Mind / World Mental Health Day

October 10th is World Mental Health Day, this year SABVC is partnering with students in MOAS1998 to check your vital signs! Did you know stress, anxiety, and poor mental health can have a huge impact on your vital signs? Poor mental health can affect your physical health in numerous ways including changes in blood pressure, heart rate, weight and more.

The theme for this year's World Mental Health Day is "Mental Health at Work". Some of the biggest triggers to declining mental health in the workplace are stress and anxiety, high levels of each of these can have adverse effects on your vital signs, which can lead to poor physical health. We will have mental health resources and information tables set up so attendees can learn all about the correlation between mental and physical health.

Students from MOAS1998 will be practicing their professional skills, and offering free vital sign checks! Some of the measurements that will be taken are height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate, body temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.

Everyone is welcome to join this event, no registration will be required. All measurements taken will be recorded and given to the participant, no record of measurements will be kept by students or event organizers. Everything will be completely anonymous! We will not be collecting any names or other identifying information. Attendees will be assigned a random number which will be used to identify them as we take them through the event and measurements.
